WOTAN, JUNG, AND ME AT THE AMERICAN RENAISSANCE CONFERENCE!

I was surprised when I got an invitation from Jared Taylor to speak at this year’s American Renaissance conference. Amren, as it is commonly called, is an intelligent pro-White organization that links some of the best-known writers and thinkers in the field. Most of the members are, presumably, Christian – some of them very fundamentalist. I was not sure how it would work out, and I was expecting resistance of one sort or another. The White-hating bigots at the Southern Poverty Law Center consider Amren a major threat; An article in their Intelligence Report by Potok and Beirich, head of the SPLC’s Intelligence Project stated: “American Renaissance has become increasingly important over the years, bringing a measure of intellectualism and seriousness to the typically thug-dominated world of white supremacy. Today, it may be the closest thing the extreme right has to a real think tank. Whether or not it survives, and in what form, genuinely matters.”[ Well, it matters to me, too – I want to see Amren succeed to the highest degree! If SPLC hates them, that’s all the more reason to support them…so please visit Amren’s website at https://amren.com.

My speech was titled “The Spear of Fury and the Spear of Wisdom.” Dr.Carl Jung noted that Wotan had shown his violent, war-like aspect during the rise of National Socialism and the Second World War, and that next time we would see his wisdom aspect: “Wotan must, in time, reveal not only the restless, violent, stormy side of his character, but, also, his ecstatic and mantic qualities – a very different aspect of his nature. If this conclusion is correct, National Socialism would not be the last word. Things must be concealed in the background which we cannot imagine at present, but we may expect them to appear in the course of the next few years or decades…Then, at last we shall know what Wotan is saying when he ‘murmurs with Mimir’s head.'” Well, a “few decades” have passed since Jung wrote those words – and I firmly believe it is our task to fulfill his prediction! You can find a synopsis of my talk at https://www.amren.com/features/2023/08/a-rebirth-and-a-reawakening/.

I will eventually put the entire text online, or perhaps publish it as a small booklet. I received a standing ovation, and at one point, when I mentioned Wotan, an unexpected clap of thunder shook the room. Thunder continued intermittently through my talk, then ceased. I couldn’t have timed it better myself! (Jung would call this a “meaningful coincidence,” or “synchronicity.”) I’m used to thinking of right-wing meetings as attracting middle-aged or senior attendees. Such was not the case at this conference: Young men and women made up a large percentage, perhaps a majority, of those present. A number were Asatru/Heathen. We sold quite a few copies of The Spear, I made it clear to the audience that I was not there to argue religion, and that if they wanted to think of Wotan as a Jungian archetype rather than a god, they were absolutely free to do so, even though I personally believe otherwise. I was respectful to everyone I met, I had a good sense of humor, and I was helpful. And, perhaps as a result, something wonderful happened – red-pilled believers in our Gods and Christians working together, amiably and respectfully, for the good of our race. If this continues and grows, we will lead our Folk to their high Destiny! Wotan, the Trickster, works in strange ways.
